Buckeye Alpaca Fall Fest

Alpacas compete in halter shows for ribbons and championships by color, age, and sex categories. Alpacas come in more natural colors than any other livestock. They compete in 16 color divisions. Exhibitors walk them around the showring so the judge can evaluate their conformation. Then they line up so the judge can evaluate their fleece. The alpaca with the best conformation and fleece characteristics wins. In Walking Fleece, the judge only evaluates the fleece on the alpaca, in classes divided by color and age. Championships are given for the over all best grey, black, brown, fawn, light, white and pattern alpaca in halter and fleece. Performance classes are on Saturday. Our youth will show their alpacas in costume at lunch time on Saturday. Saturday from 3-6 they will compete in showmanship and obstacle. Lots of fun to see the alpacas going through the obstacle course!
