As America turns 250, Summit County proudly joins communities across Ohio to honor our shared past, celebrate our present and imagine our future. From the heart of Akron to the scenic trails and townships that connect us, we’re telling stories that have shaped our nation, while showcasing the creativity and innovation that still define us today.
Air & Space Trail

From early balloon flights to modern aerospace innovation, the Ohio Air & Space Trail charts landmarks, museums, observatories and test sites that celebrate human flight and exploration. Summit County's role connects local stories to Ohio's broader flight narrative. Stops along this trail include:
Creativity Trail

The Ohio Creativity Trail links museums, murals, libraries, studios and creative voices from every corner of the state. As part of this trail, Summit County celebrates our local creators, preserving creative spaces and amplifying voices that reflect who we are today. Highlights of this trail are:

Innovation Trail

The Ohio Innovation Trail highlights the creators, problem-solvers and makers whose breakthroughs reshaped how we move, work, heal and play, connecting local stories to a statewide celebration of ingenuity and impact. Locations to explore include:
Lake Erie - Ohio River

The Lake Erie to Ohio River Trail connects the places that helped shape our state, from canal locks and lighthouses to riverside trails and historic towns. Summit County sits proudly along this route, with nine trail locations to discover:
